Hundreds of new products for the audiovisual and information communication industries were on display at the Orange County Convention Center from Wednesday through Friday for InfoComm 2011, billed as the world’s largest conference and exhibition for professional audiovisual buyers and sellers. More than 33,000 people attended this year’s event, making it InfoComm’s largest show on the East Coast and comparable in size to last year’s show in Las Vegas. The show rotates between the two cities each year.
“Our industry globally is doing very well. Certain areas such as collaborative conferencing and digital signage have been very hot in the last few years. With the price of gas and travel going up, companies are looking for ways to communicate remotely. And we have the biggest collection of videoconferencing manufacturers of any show in the United States. That’s a big driver of our growth,” said InfoComm’s senior vice president of exhibitions, Jason McGraw.
The show’s theme was “The Center of IT All,” playing off the idea that most new products run on information technology networks or are controllable through a Web browser. “Basically AV has gone to the web,” said McGraw. The show attracted 925 exhibitors, up from 850 when it was last in Orlando, in 2009. Here’s a look at a few of the new product presentations on the show floor.
